The E-Cell of our college was created in coordination with the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN), which is a non profit initiative of the Wadhwani Foundation. The objective of the E-Cell is to develop entrepreneurial aptitude in women. The ultimate goal is to help launch thousands of new entrepreneurs, who in turn will create hundreds of thousands of much-needed valuable jobs for India. This E-Cell allows new and future entrepreneurs, students and faculty to create, grow and sustain entrepreneurial communities both within and outside the campus. NEN serves as a hub for people in various spheres of entrepreneurship to connect with each other and exchange ideas and information.
The Entrepreneurship Cell encourages and allows students to generate ideas which could be converted into viable ventures thus allowing her not to be merely a job seeker in future but to be a job provider.

During the COVID times not many activities were conducted and so as to imbibe the spirit
of Entrepreneurship among the students “Hobby Gateway” activity was conducted during
the activity hour.
In association with the eStores Global, the E-cell club of our college conducted an online
webinar on 10 th July 2020 on “Entrepreneurship – The way for a sustainable India with the
topic of discussion “Don’t let great ideas escape”, by Mr. Lalit Dhanush, Entrepreneur/
Public Speaker/Coach.
On 21 st October 2020 the e-cell students attended a guest lecture on the topic
“Entrepreneurial Thinking” conducted by Mr. Krishnan Mahadevan, Entrepreneur and a
freelancer.
An Interdisciplinary Guest Lecture, “On the career opportunities available for Women in
the field of Entrepreneurship” was organized on 16 st October,2020. The Resource Person
was Mr. Gokul Kumar (Manager of Outreach and Marketing), Ms. Garima Shekhar
(Assistant Program Director at Shakthi Fellowship).

by the Entrepreneurship cell IIT Kanpur, Ishika Agarwal served as a Campus

Report 2014 -15
E-Week of the College was held from 11th February 2015 -18th February 2015 , with an active participation from students of various departments and other colleges. This year’s E-Week motivated them to unleash their hidden talents and improvise their skills in various areas related to the theme “CREATING JOBS FOR MILLIONS”
The Cheif Guest Mr.Srinivasan owner of SJS Enterprises pvt.ltd inaugurated E-Week celebrations. He shared his experience in the field of entrepreneurship which inspired our students.
The student Ventures started by our E-members were officially launched by our Cheif Guest and Principal Prof.Esther Prasanakumar . The E-Cell Magazine was released and the editorial committee of the E-Cell magazine were Ms.Prathika.P,Ms.Lipika Aiyappa B and Ms. Vishnu Chandana AV.
The events included Guest Lecture, Treasure Hunt, Card Making, Best Entrepreneur, Fashion show etc.
Report -2015 -16
The Entrepreneurship cell of Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College, is an initiative by NEN supported by Wadhwani Foundation. It began its activities for the academic year2015-2016 with an orientation programme on 21st July 2015. The chief guests for the orientation program were Mrs. Namitha Charles and Mrs. Rita Paul OF “THAT’S MY CAKE”. Theyemphasized on the journey of being an entrepreneur with the passion to innovate new things every day.
During the activity hour, on Fridays, various activities are conducted by the E-leaders such as 50 Rupees Venture, Idea Generation, Inside the Box, Managing E-store, Inspirational Videos, E-Week Videos, Warm Up Exercises, Cost Sheet, Workshops, Webinar, Documentation.etc. These activities have helped the girls to carry out their ventures and E-store successfully.
Our students attended the one day Leadership workshop conducted by NEN on 5th February 2016 at BNM institute of Technology, Bangalore.
As a part of the learning activities our students have taken part in the webinars conducted by NEN. These webinars help the students in understanding the things relating to being an entrepreneur.
Our students have also taken part in the SMART-E Challenge competitions conducted by NEN. They have taken part in two competitions namely 1) SmartE- apprentice challenge powered by First Advantage, 2) SmartE Challenge – Build A brand.

SCHOOL WORKSHOPS
Our E-cell members successfully conducted workshops at Mitralya School, GokulVidya Kendra and United mission. The workshops were conducted with an intention to create awareness about an entrepreneur , The students were taught to make few hand craft items, Calligraphy, Quilling, how to use electronic gadgets in a limited usage, drawing, painting and so on.
After completing the workshop, few students gave us the feedback that theywould like to have these workshops at least once a week or a month.
E-WEEK
E-week of the college was held from 15th February 2016 to 22nd February 2016 and students from various departments took part in the activities. This year’s E-week was celebrated with the theme “Innovating for a better world”.
The Chief Guest Ms. Ranjitha. S believes in “Enlightening of Oneself through Art”. Our chief guest is an entrepreneur who has started her career in the field of dance. She is truly an inspiration to our students for all those who believe in themselves and in their dreams.
The events during the E-week were conducted based on the theme which included Guest Lecture, Best Entrepreneur, Fashion Show, Dance, Best Tuck Shop, 50 Rupees Venture, Concentration Level and so on.
The E-week finally ended with the finale being conducted at Mount Carmel College by NEN.

Report 2016-17
The Entrepreneurship cell of the College is an initiative by NEN supported by Wadhwani Foundation. It began its activities for the academic year 2016 – 2017 with an orientation program on 17th August 2016. The chief guest for the orientation program was Mrs. SrideviAdlekha of OSSA architects. She emphasized on the journey of being an Entrepreneur and urged the young girls to believe in themselves and search for their hidden talent and work on it.
During the activity hour every Friday various activities are conducted by the E-cell leaders such as Fifty Rupees Venture, Warm-up Exercises, Inspirational Videos, Webinars, Movie Screening, Idea Generation etc. The E-cell students are undergoing an E-cell certificate courseWF NEN 100:- Orientation program in Entrepreneurship. As part of the awareness program our students have attended an awareness program on Digital Payment.
Our students have also taken part in the SmartE Challenge competition conducted by NEN, namely Lights,Camera Entrepreneurs!
The Alumni meet was organized on 1st April 2017 .it was a memorable day for all of them as they expressed their happiness in being a part of the E-cell club and this also helped us in boosting the energy level for the present E-cell members.
Ourfinal year B.Com students Shah SabihaBano and Kiran attended a two day E-leader workshop on 6th and 7th October 2016 at M S. Ramaiah Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Report 2017-18
E-evolve, the entrepreneurship cell of the college began its activities for the academic year 2017-2018 with an orientation program on 16th August 2017.
The Chief Guest for the orientation program were the alumni e-cell students Ms. Varsha .S. Jain and Ms. Husna Begum.
On 12th September 2017, a Panel Discussion was organized by the E-cell club in association with the department of History.
The topic of discussion was “Skilled India- Make In India”.
The panelists shared their knowledge and highlighted the importance of ‘Make In India’ products.
The students of E-cell showed active participation in organizing the event and there were stalls highlighting the importance of Indian Products.

• COLOR CRAFTS:- It is a College Company which is run by the E-cell Students and the products are Paper Bags, Photo Frames, Key Chains and Tiaras.
• MELTING MOMENTS:- founded by Ms. Ashika Jain, II B.Com.- The company deals with home-made Chocolates and home-made Doughnuts.
• THE CREATIVE GALLERY:- founded by Ms. Pooja A. Haran, II B.Com. – the company deals with Home-made Chocolates, Designer Panel, Dream Catcher Key-chains.
• JAZZSAM CRAFTS:- It was started by Ms. Meher Samrah, a student from III BBA with Jaiza Taskeen. It functions as an Instagram craft store. They provide customized handmade gift items like explosion box and greetings to mention few.
• HUSNA MAKEUP:- It is run by Ms. Husna Baig, III B.Com. The start-up features trade of makeup and beauty products of various brands like Oriflame, Mac, Kylie Cosmetics, Huda Beauty and Dubai Imports.
• GILLTER GALLERY:- It is a start-up focusing on customization of book covers generating a great revenue and customer satisfaction. It is started by Ms. Aliya Khanum.
• KODESITEL:- It is a brainchild of Akshita Agarwal and two other partners. The start-up comprises of budding entrepreneurs helping other start-ups set their foot in the market by developing websites.
E-week
The E-week was held from 5th February 2018 to 12th February 2018 with the theme “Live Your Entrepreneurial Dream! Break Barriers, Create Wealth, Change India”. With E-week we were able to tap the hidden talents of our students and were able to create a healthy atmosphere in our college campus by uniting all the students irrespective of their combinations.
The events that were conducted during the E-week were Treasure Hunt and Idea Generation, Merchandise Designing, Mad-Ads, Film Making and Fashion Show. The most happening event of E-week was Panel Discussion. It was an event where we had entrepreneurs sharing their experiences and encouraged the students to work towards being an entrepreneur. Some of the other events where school outreach and social entrepreneurship. Our E-cell students visited United Mission Primary School and YWCA School and conducted color craft and wealth out of waste workshop for the school students. The outreach program helped in creating awareness and promoting entrepreneurship.
A small step not only taught us about what little things we can do but also put a smile on the childrens’ faces . There was a social entrepreneurship activity wherein the students visited the YWCA’S Women’s Wing and conducted a workshop on Silk Thread Jewellery Making and Paper Bags. The week long activities came to an end with the finale being conducted in New Delhi on 24th February 2018.
International Women’s Day
On 9th March 2018, the E-cell students celebrated International Women’s Day with the YWCA unit on the theme “Women against Violence – Break the Silence, Stop the Violence”. The E-cell students enacted a skit cum dance showcasing the violence against Women and the measures to fightback.
Entrepreneurship Dialogue
In collaboration with UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) the college conducted a Entrepreneurship Dialogue – Hackathon on 24th March 2018. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to collaborate with UNDP which is an esteemed organization working in the area of Women’s Development. The activity was conducted by UNDP in such a manner wherein the students actively took part. After the inaugural session, the students were sent out to four different rooms based on their choice of theme such as 1) Finance 2) Marketing which were considered as challenges and 3) Technology 4) Innovation as opportunities for the Entrepreneurs. In each room there was a entrepreneur as a panelist who shared their stories of entrepreneurial journey and two of our students were moderator and a rapporter who facilitated the entire session. In the second session each room was further divided into four groups wherein each group, after a brain storming session, came out with an entrepreneurial idea and strategies to pursue it. The presentations were judged by the panelist and the best presentation was selected for the finale. Out of 16 presentations, 4 presentations were selected for the final round and then the best presentation was chosen and awarded.
